You, our supportive community, continue to amaze us!
The 2021 Hearts for Hope Virtual Campaign raised over $64,000 through online donations, a silent auction, a raffle, corporate sponsors and peer to peer giving! We are so grateful to everyone that made this campaign a success. We especially want to thank Kiet and Brandon Pham who raised $10,740 for our program.
We are thrilled to announce that due to this overwhelming support and holiday giving in 2020 we will be expanding our program ahead of schedule to include up to 20 more families!
After working with her Family Liaison mentor to update her resume and apply for positions, Kissha got a job!!
“I am so excited. You have no idea how Families Forward has assisted me in getting back on track! I’m very excited because I know now that these are the final steps to having an income and being able to provide stable housing for my family.”
Katie Miller has been named our 2021 Volunteer of the Year! This award is presented to Katie in grateful appreciation for her untiring efforts as a Family Liaison and for the many devoted hours of help and encouragement she has so unselfishly given.
Katie has been a Family Liaison (volunteer mentor) for the past 4 years. During her time, she’s worked with two families to support them as they strive for economic mobility. Katie has invested her time, energy, and resources for our mission. She deserves this honor and more! Words can’t express how grateful Families Forward Charlotte is for all that Katie has done and is still doing for our community..
Katie says “Working with my FFC family partner has been a blessing. Angela has become a dear friend and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”
“She definitely deserves that award and she has been there by my side no matter what… She accepted me and my two daughters in her life and made us feel like family that we never had. She is a very special woman with a heart full of love and a friendship that I cherish. I’m very thankful for her encouragement, guidance, commitment and for her being a part of our life.
I remember when she made the darkest days feel so much brighter, even when there was times that I felt like I wanted to give up, she refused to let me do that and I thank her for that because my life has been getting better and she helped me to understand that I am braver than I believe, stronger than I seem, smarter than I think, loved more than I know and to never give up…”

To the friend of FFC that gave their vehicle to Families Forward Charlotte so that we could provide Sharika with transportation! Sharika needed the transportation in order to accept a pending job offer and has since taken on a 2nd job to support her family (she has 3 children and has 3 additional children in her care)! This is a vital step she needed to take in order to achieve stability.
To the friend of FFC that gave their vehicle to Families Forward Charlotte so that we could provide Helen with transportation! Helen recently had twins and uses the vehicle to get to the hospital NICU to see them and care for them as well as to continue her education. Helen recently completed a semester at CPCC!
To everyone that has donated toiletries, cleaning supplies and other essentials over the past two months. Special thanks to Providence United Methodist Church Weekday School, Charlotte Surgery Center, Sardis Presbyterian Church, and sisters, Courtney and Mallory Koesel (pictured) who each held donation drives to benefit Families Forward Charlotte!
