Success Through Goal
Setting
|
Goal setting is
the catalyst of change for many participants
in our programming. With the support
of their Family Liaison mentor, they are
able to write goals and create action
steps. For some, this is the first
time seeing their goals on paper. And,
each time a goal is accomplished the
participant is rewarded with a certificate
and gift card, encouraging the
momentum. We are excited to share in
just the last 50 days, families in our
program have accomplished 50
goals!
|
|
|
Some of the goals
accomplished are:
Gaining
housing
Purchasing a
vehicle
Securing
childcare
Obtaining a new or
better paying job
Completing education
courses
Paying off
debt
...and
more!
|
|
|
|
Not only do we
focus on goal setting with our program
participants, but we also set goals as an
organization. For this program year
(July 2023 - June 2024), we set a goal of
keeping a consistent caseload of 75 families
throughout the year. This will result
in a 25%
increase in the number of
families we are able to work with!
That means a 25% increase in
financial assistance that we will
provide. We are facing more needs
across the board. We already have more
families staying in hotels than ever before
and with many companies cutting back, jobs
that pay well are harder to
find.
As we grow, the
challenges mount. We need your support
to accomplish our
goals. Will you donate this
month so we can meet the needs in our
community?
We appreciate any
support you provide this year that makes
these goals possible! To read
individual success stories, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Linda Vanderbosch
worked with one Family Partner for a year
and then returned to work with another
family. During her time as a volunteer,
Linda has truly demonstrated her compassion
for people. She is both patient and
resourceful and a gem to Families Forward.
The way she interacts with our families is
impeccable. In just a month, she has
assisted her current Family Partner, Marcus,
with applying for free wireless service, met
with a Mecklenburg county caseworker to
assist with his benefits, researched job
opportunities for his daughter and helped
her apply, and continued to support him as
he navigates through his housing
crisis. We are so grateful for you,
Linda!!

From Donor To
Volunteer...
|
We love when
people support our mission in multiple ways,
and that is what Patrick Menefee has
done! Patrick has been a generous
donor for years but this month he shared his
entrepreneur mindset expertise with our
program participants. In this
workshop, the group had great conversations
on healthy networks, powerful habits, and
more! Patrick shared what being a part
of FFC's mission has meant to
him:
"I believe the
best way to make a positive difference
on the world is by connecting with and
helping families on a human level.
Families Forward leads from the front as
they create real and positive change in
each and every family they touch,
creating a better world not just for the
families but for their entire
communities. I'm so thankful to get to
be involved in the movement they're
creating!"
Thank you,
Patrick!

Family Success Program
Needs Family Liaison
Mentors!
|
Have you been
toying with the idea of volunteering but
haven't quite figured out where to go or how
to make the most meaningful
impact?
|
Family Liaisons
are volunteers from the community who serve
as mentors to parents and caregivers in our
Family Success Program. Family Liaisons
provide guidance and support to their Family
Partner in setting personal goals and
helping navigate the steps necessary to
achieve those goals.
Families Forward
Charlotte (FFC) is gearing up for another
life-changing year and YOU can be a part of
it. If you're looking for a purposeful way
to give back your time, this opportunity is
for you!

I can't
volunteer my time right now. How
else can I
help?
|
Shopping our
Amazon Wishlist is an easy way to support
our program for those not ready to become a
Family Liaison. These items are distributed
to program families to help alleviate some
of their financial burden while they work
towards their goals.
